If you are looking for an entertaining, fun and easy way to raise funds for your youth group, football team, dance club, school or organisation then Paul’s Race Night package is exactly what you need. Race Nights can be delivered all over Scotland and we have helped many clubs across Dundee, Angus, Perth, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Stirling raise much needed funds.
You book the venue and get people along and leave the rest to Paul. Paul has successfully run fundraising Race Nights for 10 years and his professional all-inclusive package has benefitted over 100 organisations in raising much needed funds.
Prior to your race night, Paul will discuss in detail with you the arrangements and organisation to ensure the night is a success and you raise a lot of money. During the night, Paul will MC and run the entire evening allowing you to relax and enjoy the night. If you have some club/organisation volunteers to help on the night, this helps encourage more money to be spent and raised. Paul has run successful race nights to audiences of 20 up to 200. The more people you can get along the higher potential for raising funds.
Unlike other race night organisers, Paul will charge you a set fee, meaning that all the money you raise on the night goes back into organisation/club funds. You will not be penalised for raising lots of money!
Prior to the night
Paul will discuss your event and explain how the evening will work, including timings, pre night tasks, venues and the plan for the night. There will be 7 or 8 races on the night and you will then be tasked with finding a sponsor for each of your races (usually recommend charging sponsors £35-50 per race). For sponsoring a race, each sponsor will get their company details on the race night programme as well as displayed throughout the night on the big screen. Sponsors will also get to name the 8 horses in each race. If you get all your races sponsored then this usually covers Paul’s set fee, meaning all the money made on the night goes directly to the club/organisation funds. You should also sell tickets to those attending (we suggest keeping the price low – £3-5) this will ensure people commit to coming and you can plan appropriately.

On the night
Paul will arrive 45-60 minutes prior to the start of the event and will set up his equipment along with all totes as well as the bookmakers table. On the night Paul will provide:
- 7 or 8 professional pre-recorded live races
- Big Screen and Projector
- Full PA system
- Race slips and owners’ sheets
- All Tote tickets
- Music
- Master of Ceremonies
There will be two ways in which people can win money on the night. They can either bid to be the owner of a horse (8 opportunities per race) and/or they can place £1 bets on whichever horse(s) they fancy in each race. At the start of each race, Paul will announce how much the winning owner will receive (usually 50% of the owner’s pool). He will also announce how much each winning £1 tote bet will return (usually between £3-6). The race will get under way and everyone will shout, cheer and sometimes scream on their horse in the hope of victory! The club/organisation will usually keep 50% of the takings on each race with the remaining being paid out to the winners.
How much can we expect to raise?
This depends on how many people you manage to get to come along and how willing they are to have a wee flutter! However, Paul’s experience over the past 10 years would indicate:
- 20 – 40 people attending – can raise on average between £400 – £600
- 50 – 100 people attending – can raise on average between £800 – £1200
- 100 – 150 people attending – can raise on average between £1000 – £2500
These figures are just a guide but when you add in your ticket money, potentially a raffle and or an auction there is scope to raise significant funds for your club or organisation.
Paul’s aim is to ensure that everyone attending has a great and entertaining evening. Paul’s hosting experience ensures the night flows and people feel relaxed, at ease and are fully engaged throughout. It is one of the only night’s out where people can go home with more money than they came out with, while at the same time helping raise lots of money for a good cause!
“We raised over £2000 and Paul kept the night going, he was funny and definitely had a way of getting people to spend money at our race night. A fantastic night out, run and organised from start to finish by Paul.”
